I am a fan of anything that is designed well, from buildings to cars, to interface systems, etc. I believe that one must study good design in order to become a good designer. My personal website Is designed to show what I have learned from the class. The home page has gateways to four main pages of my personal website. I used icons that I sourced from the internet as links to the pages. I also included the text below the icons just in case the user does not know what the icons represent. I also made the icons increase opacity when the mouse is hovered over it, to give the user a hint that these images are perform a function when clicked. The home page demonstrates that I know how to use flexbox, bootstrap, and CSS.
The next page labs contain all the labs I completed during the quarter. I displayed my javascript skills by having a mouse hover function that reveals part of an image when the mouse is over one of the lab links.
The next 2 pages resume and volunteer work shows the user a part of my resume displaying my experience, education, and volunteer events I have participated in. I also show more of my CSS skills by having a moving color shifting background.
Lastly, my media showcase page shows a video that I used for inspiration before I created my personal website. Additionally, this page has some cool fade in/fade out toggle effects at the bottom.
